Sports event photography is always a diverse subject matter for James Jagger. He can be called upon to shoot a variety of different topics. In this instance, a recent trip to the coast - for some personal windsurfing - resulted in a photoshoot with pr rider James Dinsmore.

Sports event photography with a windsurfing flavour.

Windsurfing can be a supremely dynamic sports event photography subject. Wind, waves, sometimes rain, ever-changing skies and the athleticism of each rider in question give the sport a unique and eye-catching look.

Throw into the mix a former UK slalom windsurfing champion like James Dinsmore and you know the good will be delivered. Sure enough, with winds huffing their way across beaches during the run-up to Christmas 2024 it was game on.

In James Jagger’s world, strong winds equate to a sports event. And therefore are worth packing teh camera gear for. Even if the trip in question is to score some personal windsurfing. There’s always time to snap a few shots though. 

True to form Mr Dinsmore was right in the thick of it. So JJP grabbed his camera gear for an impromptu windsurfing shoot. And neither the wind nor James DInsmore let the side down. Thereby followed a power hour of frenetic windsurfing including jumps, loops, wave bashes and more. Check out the video photo essay above.

Rounding out the day with some full-power windsurfing.

Once the shots were in the bag it was then time to rig up and the Jagster to enjoy some frolics in the froth. Rounding a day at the coast that was both fruitful in terms of work and play!
