Birling Gap is an iconic south coast UK location. It’s a popular coastal hub and place of interest for visitors wanting to experience some breathtaking scenery. The South Downs directly connects with the ocean here, creating spectacular chalk cliffs that are ever-changing.

Birling Gap is part of the Seven Sisters Country Park - the longest undeveloped stretch of coast in the south. It makes a great location for storm chasing which is why James chose the spot when shooting 2024’s Storm Darragh. Check out the photo essay video above for the full sequence.
